Hi dear friends,
Due to the results of the last poll I found out you love hearing about all things behind the scenes and that makes me so happy!
I’m currently packing the orders of all the latest Restock and it will go out together this week with the Pre-Orders from last round since some people added some items with their orders.
In case you want to place a Pre-Order for the May Palette, May 10 is the last day to do so. The Ready2Ship items will stay online and this time it’s even easier to shop through the single colors as they are grouped per color as illustrated below. That’s heaps better than per palette, right?
If you love new art supplies but want to exercise some frugality.
I have this 10% discount code for any purchase made on the Jacksons Art website, anyone can use it and I earn a tiny commission if you use this link. It doesn’t affect your purchase in any way but positive. It’s a nice way to treat yourself and cut some costs at the same time whilst splurging on your favourite paper, brushes, ink or whatever tickles your fancy .

Want to know my favourite sketchbook of all time? It’s the Stillman&Birn Beta Sketchbook in 270 gsm cold pressed archival paper in A5 format. Also it’s a soft cover. "Could it BE any better? Did you also hear Chandler Bing’s voice when you read that sentence? They also come in different sizes and papers but this is the one I love the uttermost. Also available at Jackson’s.
In other news, I made a YouTube account!
At the moment I have a Short that I posted on Instagram a few days ago. It’s a Tiny Hack video where I show my hack for activating watercolour paints.
You know how your watercolours benefit from having a little water sit on them before painting? Well if you don’t , don’t worry. It’s not a crime, just a little trick some like to do before painting. The water will loosen up your pigment and the paint will flow better, also create a more harmonious brushstroke as opposed to a very concentrated and pigmented swipe. It also helps to lodge your shimmers from their set position and make them move more freely on paper. All in all, not a crime if you don’t like to do it, just a little part of my painting ritual that I like to share with you.
And the best part is, I show you how to do it in the most efficient manner as well. Well, efficient for me that is. Feel free to try it out and let me know your favourite way to go about it in the comments.
The YouTube channel is also a nice way for me to branch out and share other topics with you. If you followed my Stories I’m in a little wildflower/foraging phase and instead of only including this part of my Tiny Clouds process with you on IG, I can also record it through video. Also as I’m in a busy period of packing orders, I thought that might be a fun video to post as well, without the time restrictions other social media might have.
Okay, that’s all for now. Back to packing your orders. Thank you so much for everyone who supported my Restock, posts, newsletter, etc…
It all helps me to keep creating these paints for you.
Enjoy your evening.
Love,
Lau
